Someone, somewhere Set the table one by one Sea of neon, all the people On and on On and on There's a lemon tree Where I used to be Home, my home Hot pink enemy Did you notice me? On my own Or am I all alone? Are you fine there on your own? While I live in foreign homes? Are you doing fine there on your own with you growing pains? While I live in foreign entropy in a waiting game?

Ivory Town 04:29
VERSE Truth, do we tell it when we're sober? Love, will I get it when I'm older? Climbed this mountain just to know you Now I don't want this to be over PRE-CH Standing on my toes, my hair across your chest CHORUS Am I now calling it quits at last? Don't know how to leave you in the past Don't wanna write it down, don't wanna say it out loud Never thought I would be stuck in an ivory town VERSE Snow is piling higher Clothes smokey by the fire You said that you'd come over Was it true? When you said it were you sober? PRE-CH Coffee in our hands, bare feet are on the ground CHORUS Am I now calling it quits at last? Don't know how to leave you in the past Don't wanna write it down, don't wanna say it out loud Never thought I would be stuck in an ivory town

Where are the dogs, did you leave the door open? Did you make him cry? Don't you tell me lies What did I say? Don't you look at me that way Are you being nice, have you even tried? I'm just like children I'm trying to care but I just don't want to It isn't fair, he hit me first Don't look away but don't look right at me You seem so sad, have I made it worse? I'm just like children Where are the dogs, did you leave the door open? Are you still the same, have you even changed?

about

“The record captured a moment in time that I will never feel again, I’d been living in LA for 6 months and was dealing with that tension of longing for home, but also loving where you are, and feeling that your heart was breaking from trying to be in two places at once. All these songs are about that tension. An ‘Ivory Town’ is the idea that you’re living in a place that is still a blank canvas, still coming into being, still a period of ambiguity and stasis.” It’s the tension of living between two states – of wanting one thing and yet wanting another that is in direct contrast to that. It’s the familiar kind of tension that exists when you move away from home, when you go through heartbreak, when you grow up. That’s what all three songs on the record are about, wanting to be where you are, but also longing for what you’ve left behind. I hope that every listen is special for you, because every second of creating this record was special for me."

Ivory Town was co-written and produced by LA-based producer and artist, Jordan Ruiz (who she met at a Dodgers Baseball Game).
